Servant Traditions and Laws Servantry to a house is a valid service and way of earning a living when a member of a small house or of a "fallen" House. Servants are there as a paid employee in service of the house. Their duties usually run in the assistance of domestic duties. IE general complex maintenance, cooking cleaning, that sort. Some are often hired to assist with the rearing of noble children. Such are often referred to as Nannies. Indentured Servants are a bit different in that they are servants of a house for a period of time as determined by the time it would take for the servant to earn enough monies to repay a debt in which they owe. Weather that debt is owed by defaulting on a loan, or through criminal activity their laws follow mainly with the laws of servantry. However certain aspects that do not apply to them will be sub noted within the list.
1. Servants are employees of the house in which they are aligned. They are there by choice and choice alone. At anytime a Servant may quit their position within a house and move on to other sources of employment. Note: Indentured servants may not depart the house in which they owe a debt. However if abuse is incurred they may file a formal complaint to the Ministry of Indentured Servantry to look into the matter. 2. Servants are free individuals, and have all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of such a position in society. 3. Anything within reason may be asked of a servant, however again they have the right to refuse or chastise an individual should a certain request prove insulting, or be beyond reason. 4. Servants are not objects of sexuality, and are not used for such a manner. Their hearts belong to themselves. And can be given to whomever they see fit to give them to. |
