Slavery Traditions and Laws Slavery in Mysthia is a permanent form of punishment for criminals. All slaves have been placed into their status for one crime or another against a house. The primary one is in the form of theft. In which the individual, or individuals house was unable or unwilling to pay the fines associated with being caught thieving, and the terms of indentured servantry exceeds the individuals life span. Slaves are a part of the house who "owns" Them. However they may never be "sold or auctioned" to other houses. In the event of a house no longer willing or wanting the services of a slave, and the slave still lives. The house may sell the slave to the state and state only. General Slave Rules: 1. Slaves may not at any time look beyond the feet of any of the royal house, unless give specific direction to. 2. Slaves in general have a set duty time schedule. Usually twelve hours long, in which they are required to complete a certain number of tasks. Outside of that time, they are free to pursue their interests, as long as they remain within the house complex. 3. Slaves are laborers in Mysthia. They are not objects of sexuality to be taken and used for such. Their Lives may be owned, their hearts belong to themselves. 4. Though persons are usually sentenced to a life of servitude as slaves it is not unheard of for one sentenced to either earn their freedom, or in turn be freed due to another paying off their debt to the house who owns them. 5. Slaves have no rights or voice in society, with regards to protests of Law, or other issues of governance. A slave caught in breach of a law or tradition can and will result in often quick, and harsh reprisals. Execution is a viable reprisal.
